2025/26 Annual Appeal is underway!

Dear SBYSF Supporter,

If you’ve walked along the Santa Barbara waterfront lately, you’ve probably spotted a fleet of determined young sailors zipping around in dinghies – tacking, gybing, and occasionally capsizing (with great enthusiasm!).

These kids are part of the Santa Barbara Youth Sailing Foundation, and they are learning more than just how to trim a sail: Sailing has changed my life so much, and I can’t imagine my life without it…I have become more independent, confident, learned to trust my decisions, and to live with them when I make a mistake. - Emma

Thanks to supporters like you, we’ve had a banner year! Our youngest sailors filled our Garibaldi and Opti classes, our CFJ racers traveled and competed up and down the coast, and our ILCA and C420 teams proudly represented Santa Barbara in big regattas nationwide. With our shiny new clubhouse at Marina 1 now buzzing with salty energy, SBYSF is thriving.

This success is only possible because of you - the supporters of youth sailing! While our program is partially funded through tuition payments in conjunction with a strong and well managed endowment, we rely on generous annual contributions to support the purchase of important capital items. The money raised from this year’s giving campaign will fund the following:

  • (1) Coachboat: $40,000

  • (12) Sets CFJ Practice Sails: $20,000

  • (6) Sets of Club 420 Sails: $9,500

  • (12) CFJ Tillers + Extensions: $4,000

  • (6) Club 420 Rigging/Line Kits: $2,000

  • (4) Megaphones: $400

Total: $75,900
