C420 Sailing
Simple for beginning sailors and yet challenging enough for collegiate champions, the Club 420 offers more learning opportunities than any other double-handed boat. Over 5,000 Club 420s are sailed in youth, high school and collegiate programs all over the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
SBYSF C420 Program
Through generous donations in 2022, SBYSF was able to purchase six C420 boats to start a local program and take advantage of the increased popularity of the class on the West coast.
The SBYSF C420 Program is reserved for advanced racers looking to campaign a doublehanded dinghy at the national-level. Sailors interested in the program will be ages 13+ and have a minimum of two years racing experience in the Optimist or other dinghy.
SBYSF C420 Sailors benefits from world-class coaching at a variety of our weekend, school break, and summer training camps. Sailors are expected to race the C420 at the regional Perry Series as well as major national regattas (Orange Bowl, Midwinters, Nationals, NAMs, Women’s NAMS, CJ Buckley, etc.)
The CLUB 420 Dinghy
The Club 420 is a fiberglass two person dinghy that enables young sailors to learn teamwork, trapeze and spinnaker techniques.
